In this four-week series with Amy we'll learn how to approach a variety of arm balances with confidence, grace, and humor. Come prepared to play and to learn:
- the mechanics and leverage of arm balances
- the connection between core strength, bandhas, and arm balances
- tips and techniques you can build into your practice so you can get your feet off the ground with ease
This four-week session is recommended for those with a basic understanding of the postures and transitions and we encourage you to pair it with January's Advance Your Yoga: Strengthening the Core series. But you do not need to be an advanced practitioner to come and play. This series will do as the title suggests help you advance your practice.
Pricing: This series costs $80 for the full four-week series; $60 for members.
Amy Rizzotto
Amy Rizzotto (E-RYT 500, YACEP, CNC) has been a yoga student
for over 17 years and counts her lucky stars that she has been able to make the
practice a full-time career. Prior to teaching yoga and nutrition coaching, Amy
spent nearly a decade in international development, global philanthropy, and
fundraising. She has worked individually with players from the Washington
Nationals and is the team yoga instructor for the Washington Capitals. Amy is
dedicated to creating a synergy of functional and therapeutic movement,
sustainable healthy eating, and mindfulness for total mind-body wellness.
