Past Tense 200-Hour Teacher Training (2023-2024)

10/6/2023 - 2/4/2024

THIS TRAINING IS COMPLETE. PLEASE LOOK OUT FOR OUR NEXT TEACHER TRAINING.

The Past Tense 200-Hr Teacher Training, led by Amy Rizzotto (ERYT-500) and Ellie Conrad (ERYT-400 and LMT) is designed for anyone who is ready to deepen their practice physically, mentally, and spiritually. We invite you to spend these six months cultivating a thoughtful relationship with yoga in an accessible format and with a supportive community.

This transformative program will deepen your personal yoga practice, help you tap into your inner power, build physical strength, and give you tools to move better, stress less, and live fully whether you want to teach or not. Together, and with the support of the Past Tense Teacher Training team, we will explore anatomy through the lens of asana, functional movement and mobility, pranayama and the bandhas, meditation, and yoga philosophy in relation to social justice.

Areas of Study/Focus:

Yoga History + Philosophy.
Gain a deeper understanding of this ancient practice, its connection to our modern lives, and how it calls us to social justice.

Anatomy + Biomechanics.
This program will dive deeply into the study of anatomy and biomechanics as well as functional movement and mobility practices.

Asana. We will study the foundational postures and how to sequence them to create an engaging and transformative experience.

Breath + Meditation.
We will learn the core breathing and meditation techniques that integrate mind, body, and spirit.

The Art of Teaching.
We will explore teaching methodologies, unpack ethical considerations, study language inclusiveness, discover our unique voice, and cover common business practices for independent instructors.

Yoga for Liberation. This program aims to engage in conversation about the decolonization of yoga as well as our relationship and commitment to social justice in today’s political and social landscape.

Please note: Much of this course will be hands-on and experiential with many hours dedicated to practice teaching.
