$35.00 Asana Clinic - Hip Mobility

In each Asana Clinic we explore specific muscles, movements, or postural types to deepen your understanding of your individual body and physical practice. In this Asana Clinic, we're focusing on one of the most requested muscle groups: The Hips.

We often blame stiff and tight hip muscles on a lack of flexibility, but this tension can be caused by underlying weakness in the stabilizing muscles around the joints. In this workshop with Ellie Conrad, discover a series of unique strengthening moves and yoga stretches to help you build strength, loosen tight muscles, and "open" the hips. We will use blocks, resistance bands, blankets, and straps to isolate specific joint movements throughout the structure of a Vinyasa class. In this workshop you can expect to:

  • Gain a basic understanding of the hips anatomy and function
  • Learn how to align the hips to maintain a neutral, relaxed spine, which can help with posture and back pain
  • Unlock the hip flexors and awaken the hip stabilizers
  • Create strength while improving flexibility and mobility
  • Balance effort (muscular engagement) and ease (targeted relaxation)

This workshop is suitable for all levels, but a basic understanding of Sun and Moon Salutations will be helpful. This workshop is great for anyone who sits for long periods, athletes, and runners.

Pricing: We will be offering a monthly Asana Clinic throughout the year. Our Asana Clinic - 4 Pack includes four workshops with the heading Asana Clinic over the course of a year for $100. If you've purchased it for a previous Asana Clinic, please email us to register you for future ones.

Health & Safety Guidelines: The health and wellbeing of our entire community are our most important priorities. For all in-studio events, we have instituted several COVID-19 health and safety policies, including proof of vaccination for all eligible students, as well as universal masking requirements. Please email a photo of your vaccination card.
